BBF participants from around the state joined us in Raleigh on October 27 to hear from leaders at DCDEE and The Hunt Institute about the important work being done to support North Carolina’s children, families, and early educators. Participants learned the roles of each organization and the impact it has on the current and future ECE workforce.

This month, we spotlight Valerie Williams, Family and Consumer Sciences Education Consultant for the Office of Career and Technical Education (CTE) at the NC Department of Public Instruction. We talked to Valerie about ECE curriculum, credentials, and the importance of this curriculum to the overall ECE workforce.

October saw the BBF team on the road as we attended an apprenticeship boot camp, visited several of our participants, and presented to community colleges and interested child care centers. Find out where we went and what we accomplished!

Child Care Services Association (CCSA)'s Mentoring Pre-Apprentices and Apprentices (M.A.P.P.) will host a community of practice webinar for BBF’s mentors on December 12 (1-2 pm). The topic will be the T.E.A.C.H. scholarship program. More details to come!
